German Johnson – Huge, in almost every sense of the word. German Johnson requires extra care in growing, but the reward is big, tasty tomatoes that slice well, losing very little juice. the bonus is flavour… lots of it.
Mortgage Lifter – This is one of the oldest strains of Mortgage Lifter, having been traced back to around 1922 in West Virginia USA. It is seriously big and juicy.
Pork Chop – While most “yellow” tomatoes are actually orange, this is a true yellow that starts off yellow with green stripes that ripen to gold. The medium sized, slightly flattened beefsteaks have sweet tomato flavour with hints of citrus.
Japanese Black Trifele – A truly transcendent tomato. This pear-shaped fruit has green-streaked shoulders, deepening to a burnished mahogany and finally to a darkened, nearly black base. The meaty interior has similar, opulent shades and an incomparable, almost indescribably complex and rich flavour to match.
Green Zebra – Beautiful chartreuse with deep lime-green stripes, Green Zebra is a very attractive tomato. Flesh is bright green and very rich tasting. Green Zebra is the trending top tomato at present, appearing in all the top culinary circles and the favourite of chefs around the globe.
Cherokee Purple – Cherokee Purple is a good sized tomato with the excellent flavour so typical of ‘black tomato” varieties. Will add vibrancy to fresh tomato dishes.
Brandywine Black – A undoubtedly great tomato, the Black Brandywine combines the rich flavour of the classic Brandywine variety with a black-skinned colour. Fruits regularly weigh well over 400 grams.
Pantana – According to experts, Pantana is one of the best beefsteak tomatoes of all times.
Black Sea Tomato – An eye-catching Russian Heirloom. A real beauty, dark brown, medium sized fruit, with olive coloured shoulders. Taste is outstanding with a deep, rich tomato flavour.
Costaluto Fiorentina – Tomato ‘Costoluto Fiorentino’ is a medium-sized, delicious, juicy Italian variety of tomato which can be eaten raw, roasted or cooked in Mediterranean dishes.
Scatalone – A medium sized elongated tomato, Scatalone is considered to be one of the best San Marzano paste varieties available, great in sauces. Like most Italian tomatoes it ripens from the inside out.
Roma Tomato -A very well-known, flavoursome paste tomato that can double as a good salad tomato, as its flesh does not collapse too easily.
Pink Boar – Lovely port wine colour with striking metallic green stripes. They have dark red interiors and an outrageous flavour that is sweet, rich and juicy.
White Wonder Beefsteak – This very mild, sweet tasting variety has skin and flesh that are white when ripe!
Blue Streak – An intensely blue tomato, blushed with orange-red skin beneath the pigment. These small to medium sized fruits have a great tomato flavour. The anthocyanins that give blueberries, cranberries, cherries and blackberries their regal colours create these same variations within the blue tomato, and are purported to have the same superb health benefits.
Black Krim – An Heirloom from Russia, Black Krim is a large dark red-purple fruit, with a rich sweet flavour. One of the best, placing high in tomato taste trials. It’s very juicy. Also a favourite of many fine chefs.
Original Beefsteak – Meaty, bright red and juicy, this classic, flat-round beefsteak tomato has traditional tomato flavour and is great for slicing.
